My name is Gage Guthery, I am a second-year majoring in Microbiology at the University of Washington. My interest in biology education research starts with my home state, Oklahoma, which faces a myriad of challenges in quality and funding of education. I intend on meaningfully contributing to the development of educational STEM pathways to help alleviate systemic disparities in education. In the Halmo lab, I’m involved with social metacognition research, which explores the fundamentals and advantages of learning socially – and I love learning, and being social! Outside of the lab, I work as an RA, volunteer at the UW hospital, play the guitar, and scuba dive!
